Fawzi Behmann, IEEE ComSoc
NA Director, BoG member and Distinguished Lecturer
Fawzi is the president of TelNet Management Consulting Inc. offering professional services in the areas of communications technology and ecosystem solutions. He is lecturer at Texas State School of Engineering – Capstone Senior Design program. Prior, he was Director of Strategic Marketing with Motorola/Freescale. Fawzi started his career in telecom & communication industry initially as project leader developing network management system for Teleglobe networks and later as Senior Product management for broadband edge and core networks with Nortel Networks.
Fawzi is distinguished Lecturer and keynote speaker. He organized/chaired several conferences, had several publications, and co-authored book “Collaborative IoT for Future Smart Connected Life and Business”.
With IEEE, Fawzi was appointed as ComSoc Industry Outreach Board and BOG member (2024-2025), he is appointed as chair of IEEE Future Networks Technical Community (FNTC) and chair of Steering Committee (2024-2025) and flagship forums Future Network World Forum (FNWF) and Connect the Unconnected (CTU). Fawzi is also IEEE Conference Committee Liaison with MGA Board (2022-2024). Prior, Fawzi was General chair of IEEE WCNC 2022, and was appointed as NA Regional Director and BoG member (2020-2021, 2022-2023) where he introduced Chapter Vitality Health check system and developed Virtual Distinguished program across ComSoc. In 2020, Fawzi chaired ComSoc AdHoc implementation subcommittee and made recommendations on industry reengagement used in WCNC 2022. Among recent leadership role, Fawzi chaired IEEE Smart Cities Summit 2019, IEEE GreenTech 2017, leadership role at Globecom 2014, ICC 2012 and various functions of Organizing Committee of other conferences such as PIMRC, LMC, Consumer Technology Conference, and others.
Fawzi received several awards from Industry and IEEE. Fawzi received master’s in computer science from University of Waterloo, and MBA from Queens University, Canada.
