David Goodman, Lifetime Academic Award
Fellow of the IEEE, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and an International Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering
David Goodman was born here in Brooklyn in 1939 and after graduating from Stuyvesant High School in 1956, he earned Bachelor, Masters, and Ph. D. degrees at RPI, NYU, and Imperial College London. He later moved to Brooklyn Poly, now Tandon School of Engineering at NYU, where he have been Professor Emeritus since 2008.

Vic was one of the persons responsible for establishing the IEEE 802.11 Working Group for Wireless LANs in 1990. He chaired the group from its establishment until the end of his term in March 2000.
